Downloadable schedules for Washington-Roanoke train
Click on the link below for downloadable files which show Amtrak's Daily and Weekend Schedules for the Washington-Roanoke/Lynchburg/Charlottesville train. Note that Northbound service to Boston is only available on weekdays.
For Northbound Roanoke-Boston service, look at the schedule for train 176 (Mon- Fri) or 156 (Sat-Sun). For Southbound Boston-Roanoke service, look at the schedule for train 171 (Mon-Fri) or 147 (Sat) and 145 (Sun). Note that Southbound service is available only from as far north as Springfield on Sundays.
Make your reservations at www.amtrak.com. This train is one of Amtrak's Northeast Regional routes.
When making reservations, go to Amtrak's Home page, type in your Station of Departure, Station of Arrival, and Date of Travel in the box to the left. If you leave the Time blank, then click "GO", the next screen will show all the routes and times serving your stations. You can choose among the options. Notice that the Northeast Regional Lynchburg train is considerably less expensive than the daily Crescent, while serving the same stations. Promotional fares are available through March 31, 2010.
